Dog for Adoption: Char
Ed’s note: Char has found a new home!
The 2-year-old Char, a male border collie mix, was rescued by ARK when his former owner died and the dog was left without a home. The loss was great for the intelligent Char, who, perhaps due to his breeding, is also rather sensitive and easily excitable. The constant comings and goings and general excitement at the shelter have not been easy on him and he finds it all a bit bewildering. Still, he is absolutely full of life and loves to go for walks. A very energetic little fellow, all 14 kg of him, he was quite a handful as he tugged and pulled at his leash. Now, however, with a bit of training and the fact that he is a lightning-fast study, Char is a model walker. He will turn and throw his handler glances as he goes, checking that all is well. Somewhat shy, Char may be wary and a bit frightened upon first meeting people but he loves attention and will soon be pestering disarmingly for a belly scratch. Char is best suited to an indoor life, with lots of long walks outside.
