Why not avoid the crowds of Golden Week and enjoy the spring weather in open air café Fujimamas in Harajuku. From April 20 to May 6 Fujimamas is holding a photo exhibition of ARK animals by professional photographer Kyoko Harada. For the duration of the exhibition, Fujimamas will donate 100 yen to ARK for every guest that visits the café! Come and see ARK through beautiful photos, eat good food with friends, and at the same time help to save the lives of stray and abandoned animals.

混雑するゴールデンウィークを避け、原宿のオープンカフェ「フジママズ」で春の陽気を楽しみませんか?4月20日(月)から5月6日(水)までプロカメラマン原田京子氏撮影によるアーク写真展が開催されます。期間中、フジママズではゲスト1人につき100円をアークに寄付してくださいます。美しい写真と共においしいお食事を楽しむことによって、見捨てられた動物たちを救うことができるのです。
カフェエリアはワンちゃんも歓迎です。
Dogs on the Catwalk
New Year Dog Party, a festive treat for canines and canine-lovers, will be held at Tokyo Big Sight on Jan. 12 and 13.
The “party” consists of various events, including a fashion show of dogs and their owners like those held annually in New York since 2006 as “Pet Fashion Week NY.” This is the first time such an event will have been staged in Japan.
Japan Dog Festival 2007
Here’s some information from today’s Daily Yomiuri newspaper.
JAPAN DOG FESTIVAL 2007: “Living together” is the theme for the Japan Dog Festival 2007, which runs [from today] until Monday at the Pacifico Yokohama conference hall complex in Yokohama. More than 250 dogs, including police dogs and guide dogs, will parade near the venue at 10am Saturday to mark the start of the festival. Organized by the Japan Kennel Club among others, the festival features a dog show with 718 dogs, all champions from other shows. Other featured events include agility trials, an obstacle race for dogs, and a dog show for puppies. Doors open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. Admission is Y1,800 for adults and Y600 for primary and middle school children.
